The Denmark Under-21 international, who has a contract with VfB through to 30 June 2023, played 19 games for Rostock in the third division last term.
VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat: “When we acquired Nikolas last summer, we underlined the fact that our development path with him would involve loaning him out to other clubs. After his time with Hansa Rostock in the third division, the next step for him is Bundesliga 2. I know Sandhausen’s sporting director Mikayil Kabaca and coach Uwe Koschinat very well and that’s why I’m sure that Nikolas will be in good hands at SV Sandhauen.”
