“Get back into my rhythm”

Working hard on his comeback following a knee injury, Konstantinos Mavropanos discusses his current fitness levels and integration at VfB.

The Greek centre-back on…

… working on his comeback and return to training:

“It was my first time in the ‘Reha-Welt’ [physical therapy clinic]. It was really good there and everyone helped me to get back into training quicky. Last week was my first time back out on the pitch, and I trained individually. I don’t think it’ll be long before I can return to full training again. We’ve worked well and intensively, and I feel good.”

… his first few months at VfB:

“The team and the whole environment are really perfect. Everyone around the team, all the employees, the coaching staff and of course the players – it all just fits. That made it very easy for me to quickly become a part of the team in the first few months, even though it was unfortunate that I got an injury during pre-season. Now I just have to get back into my rhythm and then I’ll return to full training again. I’m very confident, not only for me but also for the team, that we can improve even more.”

… the performances and results from the last few games:

“It’s obviously not easy as a newly promoted side in the Bundesliga, but I think we’ve done a really good job so far. Maybe we could even have got more from the last couple of games, but the work we’re doing on a daily basis is good. We’re on the right track but I think we can still improve.”
