VfB Stuttgart have rounded out their coaching staff by naming Uwe Gospodarek as their new goalkeeping coach. The 45-year-old has spent the past seven years working with FC Bayern Munich’s youth system. In 2018, he received his DFB/UEFA A-coaching licence for goalkeeping, which is the highest badge for that position. In his playing career, Gospodarek appeared in 332 matches across the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 in Germany, and in various European competitions.
Head of sport Thomas Hitzlsperger: "With Uwe, we’re getting a goalkeeping coach who brings enormous experience to the position both as a former player and a trainer for many years of youth keepers. We're convinced that Uwe will develop our goalkeeping in the right direction and we're looking forward to working with him."
Uwe Gospodarek: "I am really looking forward to taking up this new challenge with VfB. We are all looking for the club to be a success and I want to play my part in that."
