The Marhördt golf course provided the venue for the event, which was staged by VfB's primary sponsor, Mercedes-Benz Bank, for the fourth time. Among the participants were Walter and his team as well as a number of Mercedes-Benz Bank employees.
Despite the slippery conditions, Silas Wamangituka hit a hole in one with one of the first shots of the day. The 19-year-old ended up as the overall winner after completing the course in the fewest shots and was also part of the winning team alongside Tanguy Coulibaly and others.
There was a joint lunch following the two-hour event, before Walter led his side back to the VfB training complex in Cannstatt, where they had their first session of the week in preparation for the home clash with Greuther Fürth on Saturday (kick-off 13:00 CEST).
At the public session the focus was on using diverse formations, with fit-again duo Mario Gomez and Borna Sosa, who missed the victory away to Regensburg due to knocks, back on the pitch alongside their colleagues.
