Reunion
Dennis Aogo and Holger Badstuber both played for FC Schalke 04 last season. Dennis Aogo was at Schalke from 2013 until 2017, making 65 league appearances for the ‘Königsblauen’. Holger Badstuber spent the latter half of last season in Gelsenkirchen, making ten appearances for S04.
21 year old Thilo Kehrer could be found at the grounds on Mercedesstraße from 2010 until 2012. In July of that year, he made the move to Schalke.
Coaching career
Schalke coach Domenico Tedesco began his coaching career with VfB youth teams in 2008. He was active in the youth performance centre (lastly U17 trainer) until 2015. He has been head-coach in Gelsenkirchen since July 2017.
Historical
On Saturday, Schalke will be the guests in VfB’s 1750th Bundesliga match.
In February 1964, VfB played host to FC Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga for the first time. The Cannstatt Boys ran out eventual 2-0 winners, thanks to goals from Dieter Höller and Erwin Waldner.
