Mario Gomez spent four years with Germany’s all-time record title holders, scoring 75 goals in 115 Bundesliga games. Holger Badstuber made 119 Bundesliga appearances in the Bayern jersey.
Familiar faces
Goalkeeper Sven Ulreich spent 17 years in the VfB colours, working his way through the youth teams before establishing himself between the posts in the Bundesliga. Before moving to Bayern in the summer of 2015, Ulreich had donned the jersey with the infamous red hoop in 176 Bundesliga games.
In Sebastian Rudy and Joshua Kimmich, there are two former VfB youth players in the Munich ranks. Sebastian Rudy was with the Cannstatt Boys from 2003 until 2010, making his way from the youth teams into the Bundesliga side, before departing for TSG Hoffenheim in 2010. Joshua Kimmich played in various VfB youth teams between 2007 and 2013.
