Concentrated on the finish

The VfB players have begun their preparations for the clash with Hannover 96.

The VfB players have loosened up their muscles again following the clear, but equally draining, 3-0 win over FC Erzgebirge Aue. Having enjoyed the day off on Tuesday, the Wasenelf got back into action this morning. With the exceptions of the injured Carlos Mané and Jens Grahl, the complete squad was gathered on Wednesday to begin preparations for this Sunday’s away clash with Hannover 96 (kick-off 15:30 CET). "The lads made good use of their day off. They trained well and were very concentrated today," explained Miguel Moreira in an interview with VfB TV following the morning session on Wednesday.

According to the co-trainer, there will be no specifically altered training in preparation for the top-of-the-table clash. Instead, Christian Gentner & Co. will stick to their tried and tested plan, whilst trying to work on the issues from the last game which left room for improvement. The last meeting between the two sides, which the Cannstatt Boys lost 1-2, will not be an issue in the coming training sessions either. "We are concentrating on the here and now. Ultimately, what we are preparing for is to win this game," concluded Miguel Moreira.
