In 50 days, the 55th Bundesliga season gets underway. On Thursday, June 29th, the German Football League (DFL) released the official fixture schedule for the 2017/2018 season. Upon their return to the top-flight, VfB Stuttgart play their first Bundesliga match (Saturday, 19th or Sunday, 20th August) away to Hertha BSC. VfB’s first home game at the Mercedes-Benz Arena a week later will see 1. FSV Mainz 05 as guests in Stuttgart (25th - 27th August). The exact dates and kick-off times for the first six games of the season will be announced in calendar-week 28.
The fifth (19th/20th September) and sixteenth matchdays (12th/13th December) will take place in mid-week. The Baden-Württemberg clashes for VfB will take place on matchday 10 at home against SC Freiburg and on matchday 16 away to TSG Hoffenheim. Hannes Wolf’s men complete the first half of their season with German Champions FC Bayern Munich as guests in the Mercedes-Benz Arena. The second half of the season begins over the weekend of January 12th through 15th, 2018. On Matchday 33 (May 5th, 2018) and 34 (May 12th, 2018) all games traditionally begin simultaneously.
