"Prepared to go to their limits"

VfB Sporting Director Jan Schindelmeiser is satisfied with the training camp thus far, however he stills sees potential for improvement.

For four days now, the VfB players have been going through their training camp in Neustift. Aside from the training sessions, coach Hannes Wolf’s men have also played a test friendly against Kasimpasa (5-0). On Thursday, there was something of a change of pace, with an afternoon off. "The amount of intensity within the sessions is unbelievable. Now the lads have some time to re-charge their batteries," commented Sporting Director Jan Schindelmeiser on Friday, adding: "The training matches and the game against Kasimpasa have now been processed. We saw a lot of elements that we want to see from our team. The basis has been laid for the sessions ahead."

The cannstatt Boys will remain at their training camp in Stubaital for a further five days, with several training sessions and two more test friendlies on the programme. During that time, hopes are high that clear improvements in development will be notable. "The focal point is the team gaining in substance. The lads still need to get together more and there are certain areas where there is distinct room for improvement," stated Jan Schindelmeiser. The prerequisites, that the team will make the required advances, are already showing. "The lads are determined and prepared to go to their limits," insisted the Sporting Director, concluding: "It’s all about putting a team out on the pitch that is capable of holding their own in the Bundesliga."
