Working together for talented youngsters
VfB is extending its cooperation with the Youth Development Partner International Sports Exchange Association (ISEA) by an further two years. In conjunction with Porsche Korea, the club is maintaining its commitment to developing youth players in South Korea – an important international target market for the German Football League – and giving them an insight into German professional youth football via exchange programmes.
A core element of the partnership is the ‘Porsche Turbo for Dreams – Football’ programme which is part of the ‘Porsche Do Dream’ social initiative that encourages talented young players to follow their sporting dreams, providing them with professional development, structured training and valuable intercultural experiences.
Talent development in Seoul
This year’s football camp was held from 13 to 26 September 2025 in Seoul’s Nakseongdae Football Stadium. VfB coaches led the sessions, in which 230 children from the U12 age group focused on technique, tactics and team play. There was also individual work on specific positions and training in smaller groups to target each individual participant’s strengths.
Experiencing Stuttgart
Eleven of the most talented youngsters were then selected to take part in a training camp in Stuttgart from 21 to 28 October, where they got to work alongside VfB’s U12s, play friendlies and also gain valuable experiences both on and off the pitch. Highlights included a visit to the Porsche Museum and taking part in a lap of the pitch before VfB’s game at home to Mainz.
“We are delighted to be continuing our cooperation with ISEA in the future,” said VfB chairman of the board Alexander Wehrle of the contract extension. “South Korea plays a crucial role in the globalisation of VfB Stuttgart and in the international marketing of the Bundesliga.”
The extended partnership between VfB Stuttgart and ISEA illustrates how football can build bridges between young people as well as different countries and cultures. Working together creates long-term opportunities for young female and male footballers and sets the standard for international cooperation.
