Continuing goalscoring form

Nick Woltemade stole the show with all three goals in Germany U21s’ 3-1 win over Spain.

The German U21 team took on Spain in a friendly in Darmstadt on Tuesday night – and Nick Woltemade once again demonstrated his excellent form. The VfB striker scored all three goals in a 3-1 victory.

“I’ve never scored three goals in a professional match before, it was unbelievable,” said Woltemade at full time. “It was a really cool crowd for an U21 international, we were really up for it as a team and you saw that on the pitch.”

Several internationals back in Cannstatt

While others were still in action on Tuesday, like Fabian Rieder in Switzerland’s 3-1 win against Luxembourg, a number of internationals were already back in training at the VfB club centre in Cannstatt in the morning. Alexander Nübel, Jamie Leweling and Deniz Undav were on the grass, while Maximilian Mittelstädt and Angelo Stiller both worked in the gym after starting in Germany’s 3-3 draw against Italy on Sunday evening. It will soon be back to the Bundesliga for all the national team players, with VfB visiting Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday at 18:30 CET.
