Welcome to Stuttgart, Thailand!

As part of the DFL project ‘Bundesliga Dream’, VfB opened its doors to the Thai national under-16 team – a day full of football, culture and hospitality.

VfB Stuttgart, proud hosts

As part of the ‘Bundesliga Dream’ project, VfB Stuttgart welcomed Thailand’s national under-16 team to Stuttgart. The German Football League project promotes young talent worldwide and gives them the opportunity to experience German football culture at first hand.

As hosts, VfB opened its doors to give the visitors from Asia an unforgettable day.

Experiences abound

After their arrival at midday, a tour of the MHP Arena was the first thing on the programme – a special experience for the young players, who got to learn about the home of our beloved VfB up close.

Meanwhile, VfB U21 players Lauri Penna and Efe Korkut took on football challenges set by content creators from Thailand. Afterwards, another highlight awaited the guests with a visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Football highlight

The focus turned to the pitch in the evening as the VfB U16 team (supplemented by U15 players) played a friendly against the Thai U16s. It was a good opportunity for the Stuttgart youngsters to test themselves on an international level, and they won 2-1 thanks to goals from Niko Petkovic and Ervin Bihari.

The ‘Bundesliga Dream’ project sees VfB Stuttgart regularly welcoming international guests to introduce them to German football culture, and Stuttgart in particular. Under the motto ‘Football connects’, the club is delighted to play host to visitors from various countries.
