Points up for grabs in qualifying

A number of VfB players will be on duty for their countries during the forthcoming international break, in qualifiers either for the World Cup or the U21 EURO.

For some of the VfB players, there was only a very short break after the home win against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday, as they will be busy on international duty over the next week and a half. VfB captain Wataru Endo is one of them, and will be representing Japan as they take on Saudi Arabia and Australia, who are currently ahead of them in World Cup qualifying.

Konstantinos Mavropanos is part of the Greece squad for the matches away to Georgia and Sweden, while Borna Sosa, who made his debut for Croatia last month, has once again been called up and will be on the hunt for crucial points against Cyprus and Slovakia. Omar Marmoush will be looking to make his first appearance for Egypt, who are taking on Libya twice in a World Cup qualifying double-header.

U21 internationals Roberto Massimo (Germany), Ömer Faruk Beyaz (Turkey), Nikolas Nartey (Denmark), Clinton Mola (England) are all involved in EURO qualifying.
