Kalajdzic makes international debut

Seven players are now returning to Stuttgart from international duty ahead of this weekend’s trip to Hertha BSC.

After getting his Bundesliga season off to a flying start, Sasa Kalajdzic received his first call-up to the Austria squad from coach Franko Foda. The striker came on towards the end of his country’s 1-0 win away to Romania for his international debut.

Wataru Endo was part of the Japan side who drew 0-0 against Cameroon and defeated Côte d’Ivoire 1-0 in a pair of friendlies held in Utrecht. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes of the second match.

Roberto Massimo made his debut for Germany’s U21 side, while Orel Mangala (Belgium), Borna Sosa (Croatia) and Darko Churlinov (North Macedonia) were also involved in U21 EURO qualifiers. Antonis Aidonis, meanwhile, featured for Germany’s U20s and scored the opening goal in a 3-1 win over Switzerland.
