Benjamin Pavard on target as France progress

During France’s 4-1 'Round of 16' win over Argentina, in his third World Cup appearance, Benjamin Pavard scored his first international goal, to intermittently make it 2-2.

At the World Cup finals in Russia, Benjamin Pavard and the French national team became the first side to book their place in the quarter-finals. VfB’s ever-present defender began on the right side of the French back-four for the third time in four games for coach Didier Deschamps‘ side. The 22 year was once again in action over the distance and put the EURO 2016 runner-up back in the tie, with a stunning strike to make it 2-2 in the 57th minute. In the end, France went on to decide a spectacular tie 4-3 in their favour.

In the quarter-finals, Benjamin Pavard and France will be in action on Friday, July 6th (16:00 CEST), against the winner of the 'Round of 16' clash between Uruguay and Portugal.
