Friendly win over Reutlingen

VfB Stuttgart beat SSV Reutlingen in their second friendly of pre-season, which marked the 70th anniversary of the Stadion an der Kreuzeiche.

Two days before departing for their training camp in Austria, VfB beat fifth-division side SSV Reutlingen 4-0 in their second friendly of pre-season. Silas, Chris Führich, Lilian Egloff and Luca Pfeiffer got the goals for the Cannstatt boys.

Debuts for summer signings

Both of VfB’s summer signings so far were handed their debuts in Reutlingen, with Wooyeong Jeong playing the first half and Jamie Leweling the second.  Fabian Bredlow and Enzo Millot were absent with muscle problems, while Nikolas Nartey was unavailable because of a knee issue.

VfB head coach Sebastian Hoeneß: “I think we played better than last week, particularly in the first half. We weren’t as generous without the ball and we were more dynamic going forward. It was a professional performance but we were lacking a bit of a clinical edge. Even so, it was a decent performance on the whole.”
