Friendly win over Heidenheim

Philipp Förster scored the only goal of the game against the Bundesliga 2 outfit.

VfB took to the training pitches on Friday morning before lining up against 1. FC Heidenheim in a friendly in the afternoon. Both teams had presentable chances to score in a goalless first half, but Förster was ultimately the difference between the sides when he drilled in a low shot in the 65th minute after a moment of individual skill.

VfB head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo: "It was a decent test against a good team to help us keep our rhythm during the international break, and to give some game time to the players who have been out injured or who haven’t played much recently."
