The German Football League (DFL) has awarded VfB Stuttgart 1893 a licence for the 2026/27 Bundesliga campaign, with no economic or financial conditions attached. As part of the licencing procedure, the DFL examines Bundesliga clubs’ financial viability as well as criteria relating to sport, infrastructure, personnel, administration, sustainability and the Virtual Bundesliga.
‘Successful collaboration of all parties’
Alexander Wehrle, VfB Stuttgart CEO, said: “By securing another unconditional licence, VfB is sending out a strong statement that our financial growth continues to rise steadily, which goes hand in hand with outstanding progress on the pitch. This is only made possible through proactive financial planning, a sustainable strategy, decisive action and the successful collaboration of all parties. For that, I’d like to thank our sponsors, partners, members, fans and all our employees.”
