VfB CEO Alexander Wehrle had the pleasure of presenting the key economic figures for the 2024 financial year as part of the executive board’s annual report. VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG generated a revenue of €299.8m in the 2024 calendar year – a new record for the club – while the resulting profit of €15.4m is also an all-time high for VfB.
“A position of strength”
“We’ve achieved records, we’re on course for growth and have ambitious goals,” said Wehrle, adding that the club would continue to go about its business with foresight and humility following the announcement. “It’s also clear that we’re still a long way from achieving bulging accounts. We’re in the process of repaying our stadium loans – a responsibility that remains a challenging one. Fortunately, however, these results have brought us closer to our consolidation targets more quickly than anticipated. That gives us additional security, strengthens our financial stability and ensures we continue to act from a position of strength.”
Rises across the board
In addition to transfer income, VfB’s participation in the UEFA Champions League had a significant impact on revenue and profit growth. The additional home games, along with the opening of the new Mercedes-Benz Business Centre, resulted in an increase in turnover of €18m. Sponsorship income also increased significantly by €9m, with merchandising revenue rising from €10m to €17m.
