Rouven Kasper to leave VfB

VfB Stuttgart’s chief marketing and sales officer will join FC Bayern Munich for the start of 2026, the two clubs have confirmed.

The VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG supervisory board has reached an agreement with FC Bayern Munich and granted the request of board member Rouven Kasper to join the Bavarian club on 1 January 2026. Kasper’s VfB contract, which was due to run until 2028, will be terminated when that time comes.
A VfB board member since January 2022, Kasper has successfully implemented the reorientation of the club’s sponsorship, internationalisation, marketing and sales, and other strategies. The 43-year-old, who previously enjoyed a spell as Bayern’s ‘President Asia’, has now opted to re-join the Bundesliga champions.

“We’ve granted Rouven Kasper’s request to take on this new professional challenge because he has rendered outstanding service to our club during his time at VfB and played a major role in our resurgence,” said Dietmar Allgaier, supervisory board chairman and president of VfB Stuttgart. “Without his efforts, VfB would not be in as strong a position as a company, business platform and brand as it is today. We’ve also agreed to this move because the trustful talks with FC Bayern Munich and my counterpart Herbert Hainer in particular were characterised by great mutual appreciation.”

“The decision to take on a new professional challenge was not an easy one for me, given what we’ve achieved and experienced together over the past four years,” added Kasper. “I’d like to thank the supervisory board, led by Dietmar Allgaier, for giving me the opportunity to return to FC Bayern. I’m proud that, thanks to our courageous, capable and joint efforts as well as a clear strategy, we were able to re-establish VfB Stuttgart, who were in a very difficult position at the time, on a path to success. Today, it is once again one of the most ambitious football clubs in Germany and in Europe. After an intensive period filled with unforgettable experiences and highlights, I’m leaving my home club with a heavy heart, but certain that VfB is in a very good position to meet the challenges of the future.”
