Successful camps in the USA

Four camps, over 240 children and teenagers, countless happy moments. In association with our partners German American Kickers and FOX, VfB successfully held football camps in the USA filled with sports, valuable knowledge-sharing, and lasting inspiration for the future.

This summer, VfB once again demonstrated their commitment to international youth development in keeping with the theme of ‘Supporting young talent through sport, sharing knowledge, strengthening partnerships.’

A total of four summer camps, held in Trenton, Matthews, Mooresville and Warwick, were put on in the USA in collaboration with partners German American Kickers and FOX. Approximately 240 football-loving boys and girls aged between seven and 17 took part and enjoyed a varied training programme.

For example, in Trenton, New Jersey, 40 boys and girls took part in several training sessions every morning and evening, while in Mooresville, North Carolina, 150 youngsters participated in intensive sessions that combined football with fun.

Coaching workshops: the key to long-term impact

In addition to the youth camps, coaching workshops were held in Charlotte (North Carolina) and Warwick (New York) for local coaches. These included both theoretical sessions in the classroom and practical ones out on the pitch, giving coaches the chance to immediately apply what they had learned.

These workshops are a key element in sustainable football development, because having a passion for the game alone isn’t enough: knowledge sharing and long-term partnerships are what build real, lasting structures.
