U19s end campaign on a high

Match summary:

After a goalless first half, Matthaios Tsigkas put VfB ahead in the 59^th minute. Nico Willig’s charges continued to play on the front foot after opening the scoring, but conceded an equaliser out of nothing in the 73^rd minute. Only 120 seconds later, however, VfB provided the perfect response as Tsigkas netted his second of the game to restore the U19s’ advantage. Julian Lüers was sent off for a second bookable offence late on, but the hosts held on to stretch their unbeaten Youth League run to five matches.

Goals:

59^th minute: Salvatore Mule cuts in from the left and feeds Tsigkas, who finds the far corner from close range to break the deadlock.

73^rd minute: VfB give the ball away in midfield and Felix Tsimba uses his considerable pace to take the ball around goalkeeper Florian Hellstern and make it 1-1.

75^th minute: Yanik Spalt’s perfectly weighted cross is met by Tsigkas, who heads home at the far post to complete the scoring.
