JAKO to remain kit supplier – and invests in VfB

VfB Stuttgart and JAKO are to remain partners for the long term. The partnership with the sportswear manufacturer from Hohenlohe, which originally ran until 2023, has been extended until 30 June 2029. JAKO will thus develop and produce kits, teamwear and fan merchandise with and for VfB for at least another six seasons. A joint retail concept and an expansion of joint team sports activities are also planned for 2023.

Moreover, the Swabian medium-sized enterprise has purchased shares in VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG. This intensification of the partnership means an increase in the AG’s equity.

VfB CEO Thomas Hitzlsperger:

“We’ve been working very closely and very faithfully with JAKO since July 2019. As a medium-sized enterprise from the region, JAKO shares our values and our passion, particularly the aspiration to become a sustainable business. JAKO investing in the future of VfB as a shareholder is an important step in our investor strategy. We’re very pleased that we can work together in the long term and explore new territory together.”

Nadine Sprügel, CEO of JAKO:

“We’re delighted to be going into the future alongside VfB Stuttgart. Important strategy points of JAKO’s, such as sustainability and the connection to the local region, are firmly rooted in our partnership. Our human interaction with the team at VfB is part of the success story of the partnership. ‘WE ARE TEAM’ applies here, too.”

JAKO, founded in 1989 by Rudi Sprügel, is one of Germany’s leading team sports brands. Across the world, more than 100,000 teams in over 50 countries wear kits made by the company, which is based in Mulfingen-Hollenbach in Baden-Württemberg.
