Despite the light rain, there were plenty of happy faces on show as Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side returned to the practice pitches on Tuesday morning for their fourth week of training in small groups. “The coaching staff are doing exceptionally well,” said Daniel Didavi, who is delighted with VfB’s varied training programme. “They’ve played a big part in maintaining a good atmosphere despite the uncertain situation.”
Competitive drills which enable the newly formed groups to test themselves against one another have made a major contribution towards the positive atmosphere in the VfB camp. “The competition brings us closer together and you develop a strong team spirit within your group during the week,” added the 30-year-old midfielder.
