Luca Mack on…
…his first steps as a youngster with the first team:
“We have a few young players in the squad, which makes the acclimatisation a bit easier for us. As well as that, the experienced players have received us brilliantly. As a young player, you try to take in as much as possible during and after training. It’s certainly a special feeling when you’re suddenly training players who you’ve seen on TV in Bundesliga matches.”
…teammates Mario Gomez and Daniel Didavi:
“I spent many years at the academy walking past the Panini stickers of Mario Gomez and Daniel Didavi, which are hanging up in the tunnel. Now I’m standing next to them on the training field and playing against or with them both. At that moment it’s a little dream come true for me.”
…his first full training session following injury:
“It’s an indescribable feeling when you put your football boots on again after several months, walk onto the training pitch and are able to train with the team.”
…on the current situation with training in small groups:
“Every footballer knows how it feels when all you can do is train, without the competition at the weekend. I think we’re making the best of the situation and are still having fun in training. We’re all chomping at the bit to be playing football at the weekend again.”
