Happy birthday, Manfred Haas!
Former VfB president Manfred Haas is turning 80 years old this Monday!
Manfred Haas was at the helm of VfB from 30 October 2000 to 26 June 2003. In his final year, VfB Stuttgart finished runners-up in the Bundesliga and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history. Taking part in Europe’s premier international club competition and the economic windfall that came with it heralded a new era at the end of Haas’ presidency. His trademark moustache was also consigned to the past and was shaved off when the club finished second in the league to honour a bet he had made!
