Dietmar Allgaier was named president of VfB Stuttgart 1983 e.V. on 22 March 2025, having previously served as the club’s interim president from 1 August 2024 onwards.
As a representative of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V., Allgaier is also a member of the VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG supervisory board, who elected him chairman at the end of September 2024. Allgaier’s main job is district administrator of Ludwigsburg.
Born in Stuttgart in 1966, Allgaier trained as a commercial assistant after graduating from school. He then studied at the University of Public Administration and Finances in Ludwigsburg, graduating in fiscal affairs, before qualifying as an executive financial manager in 2007. He also worked for the Ludwigsburg finance department between 1992 and 1996, and for the Stuttgart tax investigation office until 2008.
From 2008 until early 2020, Allgaier first served as mayor and deputy councillor, then as lord mayor of his home town of Kornwestheim. During that period, he also served as CEO of the Städtische Wohnbau Kornwestheim GmbH urban housing company, and as CEO of TechMoteum GmbH.
After becoming Ludwigsburg’s district administrator on 5 January 2020, Allgaier was elected councillor of the regional assembly in June 2024.
In his role as district administrator, Allgaier is also chairman of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg savings bank as well as supervisory board chairman of Regionale Kliniken Holding RKH GmbH, the Kliniken Ludwigsburg-Bietigheim gGmbH, the Orthopädische Klinik Markgröningen gGmbH (OKM) and the Abfallverwertungsgesellschaft des Landkreises Ludwigsburg mbH (AVL) recycling company. He is also a supervisory board member of the Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart GmbH (VVS) transport and tariff association. In a voluntary capacity, Allgaier acted as chairman of Städtische Orchester Kornwestheim e.V. between 1992 and 2001, and as chairman of the Rotary Hilfe e.V. organisation from 2017 to 2019.
Allgaier is married with two children.
