Toni Sunjic leaves VfB

The 28-year-old central defender, who was on loan in Palermo, makes an immediate move to Russia, where he links up with Dynamo Moscow.

Toni Sunjic, who was signed on loan by Italian side US Palermo for the latter half of the previous season, will not be returning to Stuttgart. The 28-year-old makes an immediate transfer to the Russia league, where he will play for Dynamo Moscow. The details of the move remain undisclosed.

In August 2015, Toni Sunjic made the move from the Russian club Kuban Krasnodar to the banks of the Neckar, making his first appearance in the shirt with the infamous red hoop in an away game in Berlin on September 12th, 2015. In his debut at the Olympiastadion in the German capital, the 23-time Bosnian international was on target with his first Bundesliga goal. There followed 18 further games for Sunjic in Germany’s top-flight.

Toni Sunjic went on to make ten further appearances (2 goals) for VfB in the '2. Bundesliga'. The 1,93 meter tall central defender was also involved in five DFB-Cup games for the Wasenelf, scoring one goal in the cup.

Sporting Director Jan Schindelmeiser: "Toni didn’t have an easy time in Stuttgart, but he always presented himself as a totally professional sportsman. We are very happy for Toni, that he has found a new challenge in Moscow and we wish him all the very best for a successful future."
