Markus Weinzierl: "We had high hopes, but we weren't able to keep their attacking quality under wraps. We might have won more than 50 per cent of our challenges, but we lost the decisive ones at the back. We need to be better positioned in defence. On top of that, we weren't in the right shape going forward – you can't perform like that. All in all, it wasn't enough even though we had high hopes."
Dennis Aogo: "We went into the game with high expectations and wanted to lay down a marker. We didn't manage that at all. After they had a goal ruled out for offside, we had a big chance to take the lead. After that we weren't solid enough at the back. We need to work hard on that in the next few weeks. Defensive solidity has to be our foundation."
Ron-Robert Zieler: "It was a really disappointing evening. We're finding it tough going. We didn't do enough to stop them. We need to perform better in the upcoming games."
