Ata, you two spend a lot of time together. Why is that?
Atakan Karazor: "Obviously a lot of that is due to us speaking the same language. But I also noticed right away that he’s a nice guy. I’ve been his first point of contact since we started training.”
Ömer, how have you been welcomed at the club and in the team?
Ömer Faruk Beyaz: "I definitely thought it would be harder and so I'm obviously delighted that the team has welcomed me into the fold so quickly. I'm on my own here, but I don't feel alone."
Ata, what's your view of the team?
Atakan Karazor: "I'm very optimistic, because I think we've improved. Last season I had the feeling that we showed [some teams] too much respect sometimes."
What's your view of Ömer's role?
Atakan Karazor: "I really like what he's doing. It's incredible what he can do on the ball, but he's also good when he's not in possession. He's well aware that it's a different level here, but I know the Turkish mentality a little bit. He'll be fine."
Ömer, have you set yourself a target of how quickly you want to establish yourself in the team?
Ömer Faruk Beyaz: "My view is that it's never too early. The earlier you have the chance to learn from big players, the better. VfB have given me that opportunity. I've only been here a couple of weeks, but I've already learned so much. I really want to show that I want to play."
