"Take it one minute at a time"

Ahead of Sunday's game at Augsburg, Tayfun Korkut demanded a high degree of commitment and willingness from his side against solid opposition.

Tayfun Korkut is not one for long-term planning at the moment. “We need to take it one minute at a time,” said the Stuttgart head coach on Friday. “Every player has to be aware of his job and his responsibility at every point during the game.” All the cogs will need to be turning on Sunday at 15:30 CET when VfB visit FC Augsburg.

“Commitment and willingness are not negotiable,” said the 43 year-old.

The boys from Cannstatt will need to show a high level of commitment against a “solid side”, according to Korkut. “Augsburg have often got the best out of having a close unit,” said the VfB coach. The hosts sit in seventh place with 31 points after 22 Matchdays and have collected 19 of those at home. Other than Matthias Zimmermann and Carlos Mané (both rehabilitation), Korkut has a full squad available for the trip to Bavaria, including Mario Gomez who returned to training on Friday after his illness earlier in the week.
