Four VfB players on international duty

Benjamin Pavard and Santiago Ascacibar are among the VfB Stuttgart players to head off for the final international break of the year, but Anastasios Donis, Berkay Özcan and Pablo Maffeo all have injuries that prevent them from joining up with their respective national teams.

Pavard and 2018 FIFA World Cup winners France travel to Rotterdam to face the Netherlands on Friday 16 November (kick-off at 20:45 CET), knowing a draw is enough to secure them top spot in UEFA Nations League Group 1. Les Bleus round off their fixture list for 2018 with a friendly against Uruguay on Tuesday 20 November (kick-off 21:00 CET).

Ascacibar called up again

After making his senior international debut in September, Ascacibar has now been selected in the Argentina squad for a third time. The Albiceleste will play two friendlies against Mexico on 16 and 20 November.

Özcan (ligaments), Donis (muscular) and Maffeo (ankle) are unable to report for international duty due to their injuries.

Baumgartl joins Germany U21s for friendlies

Germany U21 captain Timo Baumgartl will lead out the reigning continental champions for friendlies against the Netherlands (16 November) and 2019 UEFA U21 European Championship hosts Italy (19 November) in preparation for next year's tournament. Elsewhere, David Kopacz will be part of the Poland U20 side to meet Portugal (15 November) and Ukraine (19 November) as they build towards hosting the FIFA U20 World Cup next year.
