There’s great disappointment in the dressing room because we wanted to defend the title. We were great for 60 minutes, we pressed very consistently. A lot of what we planned to do came off. Still, Bayern asserted themselves as the game went on. We can leave the Olympiastadion with our heads held high. The manner of our performance reinforces just how impressive our season has been.”
Deniz Undav: “Those were very special moments with the fans at the final whistle: they gave us huge encouragement. That was nice, but at the same time we’re sad. We desperately wanted to win this final. There’s not much we can blame ourselves for. Quite the contrary, we can be proud of our performance and the whole season.”
