Hannes Wolf: "Cologne were really good early on and put us under pressure. During that phase, Köln could have taken the lead. After 30 or 35 minutes, we then got a foothold in the game and created a number of good chances – the third of which resulted in the goal by Tassos. We were in control for long periods of the second-half. We had a few good situations in which we got into the opposition box, but we didn’t play them out effectively. Then Köln hit back. Things got pretty wild then and we lacked the physical freshness. Chadrac ultimately decided the outcome with a good solo run, but we can’t forget that late save by Ron, who did well tonight in a number of situations. We need to continue working on becoming more stable in all areas."
Ron-Robert Zieler: "The win was very emotional and unbelievably important for us. Köln played really well at times, but all that counts is the three points. I am just happy to have been able to help the team with my saves. For our moral and for the entire club, this was an extremely important win."
