VfB coach Hannes Wolf discussed a deserved win following the clash with Kaiserslautern on Sunday.

Hannes Wolf: "We had the better of the possession in the first-half and controlled proceedings. There was surely the odd situation for the opponents when we were forced to defend stoutly. In the first-half, we lacked any real punch going forward. After the re-start, we wanted to take a more courageous approach and increase the tempo once in possession. That worked out very well for us. Simon’s goal was just the sort of thing we needed. We had some slight problems then when Kaiserslautern switched to a more attacking formation but in the end, it was a deserved win against a defensively good side. That considered, it was a wonderful afternoon for us."

Daniel Ginczek:
"Compliments to the fans for their support here today. A crowd of 52,000 is not self-evident in the ‚2. Bundesliga‘. We looked to pay some of that fate in us back on the pitch, which we achieved in securing our fifth consecutive win. We played the game well and took the lead at just the right time. Of course I would have liked to get in on the scoring, but in the end, Berkay made it 2-0 and we took all three points. That was our target."

Mitch Langerak: "Kaiserslautern were very solid in the defence and it was difficult to get through on the opposition goal. Simon’s goal settled us somewhat. We are well-drilled as a team unit and we have no reason to start hitting the breaks now. We must continue to work intensively and improve."
