Record bound

Five consecutive sell-out home games in the Bundesliga is a feat never before achieved by VfB – at least not with the stadium at full capacity. Early in December, that record could be broken.

The results are on song – the crowd too! For Hannes Wolf’s men, things are going perfectly according to plan at the Mercedes-Benz Arena of late and the Stuttgart fans filling the stadium have had plenty to cheer about. No wonder really: The last three games in front of the VfB fateful were – as so often since the coach took charge – completely sold-out, as is the clash with FC Bayern Munich no December 16th, for which all tickets were snapped up shortly after the exclusive sale to VfB club members began.

As is the demand on tickets for games in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in 2017, now there is merely one final chance this year to catch the Cannstatt Boys in top-form on their home turf: VfB Stuttgart versus Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Friday, December 8th, 2017 – kick-off 20:30 CET.

Should that game also prove a sell-out, a new record will be set in the history of VfB Stuttgart, with never before such a run of sold-out games at the current stadium capacity. In the previous second-flight season, the VfB achieved that feat, which was previously achieved in the 2009/2010 Bundesliga season, albeit with just 39,000 places available in the Mercedes-Benz Arena due to construction measures. There, where VfB have not lost a single game this year, the history books could be re-written… a little at least!
