Focus set on Dresden clash

The VfB team began preparations for the game against SG Dynamo Dresden with tempo and a number of returning internationals.

To complete the second session of the day on Wednesday, the VfB players dashed across the training pitch at full speed. In beautiful sunshine, and with plenty of fans gathered around the training grounds, the focus was clearly set on the target. On Wednesday, that target was the finish-line, but on Sunday, the target will be a positive result in the sold-out home clash with SG Dynamo Dresden. The sprint finish included Timo Baumgartl, Anto Grgic and Jean Zimmer, who had missed out on recent sessions due to international participation, or for the latter, with a cut to his foot. All three completed the entire session without problems on Wednesday.

The trio of Berkay Özcan, Josip Brekalo and Carlos Mané were back on the VfB club grounds again, but not yet in full team training. Berkay Özcan and Josip Brekalo, who went head-to-head on Tuesday in the U19 clash between Turkey and Croatia (0-0), just did some light jogging. Carlos Mané was active in the weight-room, following involvement with the Portuguese U21s, as was Florian Klein, who is still struggling with a slight muscle sinew tear in his stomach region. On Wednesday, Mitch Langerak, Takuma Asano and Jérome Onguéné were all on their way back to Stuttgart from duty with their respective national teams.
