Two years after the initial acceptance of the plans for major construction work, the decade long dreams of the VfB supporters have come true - modern arena, with a pure football character and a perfect view of the pitch. On its completion in late summer 2011, the Mercedes-Benz Arena will not just set new standards in unimaginable comfort and phenomenal atmosphere but also in the ultimate in forward thinking, ecological technology. With the removal of the running track, the VfB fans will be closer still to the players on the pitch, increasing both the intensiveness and the emotion of the event. The new arena will house almost 60,000 and the best interest of those fans has always been the focal point of planning the new arena.
The traditional home of the most loyal VfB fans, the legendary Cannstatter Kurve, will in the future boast standing places for in excess of 10,000 spectators who will create a breath-taking red and white wall of atmosphere. At the opposite end of the stadium, the new Untertürkheimer Kurve will have a modern business area with space for 700 guests with boxes, lounges and seating, as well as a 2,000 person capacity sport hall.
The fans will also benefit from the improved and modernised infrastructure, the optimised catering and service offers. On the whole, VfB will be offering a never before seen complete live experience.
