The presidential hopeful explained his ten-point-plan to the VfB members, focusing on making VfB fit for the future and he stated: “The position as president of VfB is not just some job – it’s much more than that. It’s an honour and a challenge at the same time.”
From 2,657 present club members, 2,159 subsequently cast their votes in the presidential election – 1,268 of whom voting for Gerd Mäuser, who therefore secured 58,7% of the votes cast and becomes the new president of VfB and successor to Erwin Staudt.
