Elson on loan to Hannover 96

Following the departures of Jan Simak, Yildiray Bastürk and Thomas Hitzlsperger, now Elson is also on his way from VfB, as he moves to Hannover 96 until the end of the season. The Brazilian playmaker, who has a valid contract with VfB until June 30th 2011, is hoping to gather some match practice with this step. Elson signed to VfB from Palmeiras Sao Paulo in the winter of the 2004/2005 season. Following loan moves to Brazilian clubs Ponte Preta, Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte and Goias EC, the 28 year old returned to Stuttgart during the 2007/2008 winter break.

Elson scored the 43,000th goal in the history of the Bundesliga

The season the Brazilian made eleven appearances in the Bundesliga for VfB and scored two goals. During his time in Stuttgart, Elson has played 31 Bundesliga games and eight in international competition. In the 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in March 2009, Elson scored the 43,000th goal in the history of the German Bundesliga.
Horst Heldt commented: "Recently at VfB, Elson hasn't been involved quite as regularly as he had hoped to and that makes this solution the best option for all parties."
