Expert opinions: Today, Alexander Hleb

Hello Mr.Hleb, which VfB game from 2008 do you remember most particularly and why?
Alexander Hleb: "The one that I would call to mind spontaneously would be the final game of last season when VfB qualified for European competition thanks to a Manu Fischer strike in the last minute."

Which VfB player could next go on to represent his country?
Alexander Hleb: (laughing) "There are a number of candidates but I don't wish to put any pressure on the lads."

Which young VfB player do you expect to make his breakthrough into the first team squad in 2009?
Alexander Hleb: "Sorry, but I'm too far away from the club now to really be able to judge."

For you personally, who was the best VfB player of all time?
Alexander Hleb: "There are two players in particular that I got to experience up close over many years - Krassimir Balakov and Zvonimir Soldo. Both were great footballers, strong personalities and real leaders."

What wishes would you extend to VfB for the coming year and in the future?
Alexander Hleb: "All the very best of course! I'll also be keeping my fingers crossed that VfB qualify for international competition."
