Following yesterday evening’s 2-1 friendly win in Heidenheim and after two intensive weeks of pre-season preparations, Thursday morning saw a somewhat less gruelling session on the schedule for the VfB players.
The programme started with some stretching to loosen up some tired legs and then the ball came into play.
The highlight of the session was a Football-Tennis tournament, with the VfB players playing out the games in 3-against-3 format. It was the perfect preparation for Christian Gentner and Martin Harnik, who will take on two tennis professionals in the Mercedes Cup at TC Weissenhof this evening.
The duo took the opportunity to get in the best possible practice session and dominated the Football-Tennis tournament along with Georg Niedermeier.
Cacau, who had been forced to take things easy over the past few days, was back in full team training once again. The recovering Johan Audel worked separately on his comeback.
