On Monday morning at 10am, the VfB players got stuck into their second week of pre-season preparations – kicking off with an intensive warm-up programme with endurance and rehabilitation coach Dr. Christos Papadopoulos. Whilst the goalkeepers were put through their paces by Andreas Menger, the rest of the players took to the pitch.
For the Monday session, coach Bruno Labbadia had to make do without the services of Ibrahima Traoré (ligament damage to the right knee) and Johan Audel (Thigh strain). Antonio Rüdiger (Achilles problem) was also forced to take things easy and went through an individual jogging programme.
William Kvist returns
Returning from EURO 2012 participation, William Kvist started his preparations with a performance check. The defensive midfielder spent his extended holiday in South Tyrol with his girlfriend and then a week in Copenhagen with his family. Kvist returned to Stuttgart yesterday and will rejoin his team mates tomorrow.
VfB will have their second session of the day this afternoon at 3:30pm.
