As from the 2012/2013 season, Martin Harnik, Sven Ulreich, Christian Gentner & Co. will take to the pitch with the Mercedes-Benz Bank logo and the Mercedes star emblazoned across their shirts. The Mercedes-Benz Bank will be the new top sponsors of the VfB Stuttgart. The original deal is for two years, with an option to extend.
The decades of cooperation between Mercedes-Benz and VfB now moves to the next level, which led to a great deal of interest at Mercedes-Benz Arena on Thursday morning, as VfB presented the new sponsor at a press conference. At the same time, the new Puma jerseys for the coming season, a must for every VfB fan, were also unveiled.
Statements of the new commitment of the Mercedes-Benz Bank
Franz Reiner, chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Bank: “As a Stuttgart company, we are closely connected with the city and the region. That is also the case with VfB, who stand for dynamic, success and emotion. The partnership will make the brand better known and provide some extra momentum for our business.”
VfB president Gerd E. Mäuser: “Today is a very special day for VfB Stuttgart. Now the decade long cooperation between Mercedes-Benz and VfB moves into a new phase. We are happy to be presenting Mercedes-Benz Bank, who suit VfB’s values ideally, as our new main sponsor. With the commitment of Mercedes-Benz Bank, the long held dream of many VfB supporters of seeing the Mercedes star on the jersey will finally come true. VfB will be doing everything possible to ensure this partnership is a successful one.”
Jochen Röttgermann, manager of VfB Stuttgart Marketing GmbH: “Aside from the present on the jersey, Mercedes-Benz Bank will also be well represented with advertising in and around the Mercedes-Benz Arena, corresponding to the company’s position on the sponsor pyramid. I would personally like to thank garmo GmbH, who were our top sponsor for two years and with whom we are currently discussing a sponsorship extension. We hope to maintain garmo GmbH on our side as a strong and loyal partner.
