Fond farewells

Khalid Boularouz and Stefano Celozzi will both bid farewell to VfB Stuttgart this summer. The contracts of both right full-backs are expiring and neither will be extended.

Both Khalid Boulahrouz and Stefano Celozzi will be parting company with VfB Stuttgart at the end of the current season. The contracts with both right full-backs are due to expire and will not be extended. VfB trainer Bruno Labbadia commented: “Khalid functioned very well during some difficult phases for us. He has a great deal of quality. He reads the game very intelligently and is technically better than many believe him to be.” The destination of the Dutch international is as yet unclear.

Khalid Boulahrouz and Stefano Celozzi, along with Matthieu Delpierre (TSG Hoffenheim) and Timo Gebhart (1. FC Nürnberg) will be given an official send of at the final game of the season in the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Since arriving in 2008, Khalid Boulahrouz has made 64 Bundesliga appearances (2 goals), played in five DFB-Cup matches and had 15 European outings with VfB. During his time at VfB, since the summer of 2009, Stefano Celozzi has played in 30 Bundesliga games, two DFB-Cup matches and made ten European appearances.
