VfB sign Camoranesi
Shortly before the summer transfer period comes to an end, VfB Stuttgart completed the signing of Mauro Camoranesi from Juventus Turin. The 33 year old midfielder signed a three year deal with the club, the details of which will remain undisclosed. The Italian international, with Argentine roots, is expected to train with Christian Gross' men for the first time on Wednesday.
VfB director of Sport Fredi Bobic: "We are very happy to have found a player with such a big name and of such high quality. He will certainly help our young team with his strength in tackling and aggressive style. His personality will also help further our development. He wishes to stay here for longer than a year, so for that reason his family will also move to Stuttgart."
Mauro Camoranesi: "I'm very happy to be able to be here. The coaching staff and the players immediately greeted me with a warm welcome. I'm quite sure that I will be right at home here. There are a number of players that I know from the 2010 World Cup and of course I know Cristian Molinaro from Juventus. It's fantastic to have been signed to strengthen the team. Physically I feel in very good condition. I've been fully in training since July 18th, so I should be able to slot in here and be available to the trainer straight away. The growth in the Bundesliga has been clear to see in recent years. It speaks for itself that increasingly more established players have been coming here. I had other offers but VfB took priority."
